The Alumni Association helps preserve the legacy of GCSU by honoring alumni and friends with seven different awards. The distinguished honorees represent just a few of the many alumni who contribute in numerous ways to their fellow alumni, to the university, to their communities, and to their professions.

The Ethel Rae Mozo-Stewart Alumni Community Service Award

Graduates, associate and honorary alumni are eligible for this award, established in memory of an alumna from the class of '46, to honor the spirit of volunteerism among graduates. Appropriate candidates are characterized by a history of exemplary service, not necessarily in leadership positions, that resulted in visible improvements within his or her community.

The William Bone Golden Key Award

Only bestowed from time to time, this award is reserved to honor friends of Georgia College who have rendered outstanding service to both the university and its community. This prestigious award is named in honor of alumna William T. Bone of the class of 1910. Nominees are not required to be alumni or connected to the Alumni Association; however, they must not have received honors from the university or the Association within the past four years.
